Like a river, the concert and its various themes suggest the fluidity of the instrument between different musical genres, without imposed limits or predestined places. This flow allows the instrument to settle on any bank - or banks - of this immense river that is the Brazilian musical universe.

This project consists of the concert entitled Spread Fire - Zequinha de Abreu on the Viola Caipira, by Caio de Souza Quartet (viola caipira, seven-string guitar, cavaquinho and frame drum). The concert proposes the insertion of the caipira viola in a musical universe that is not usual to its origins: the choro. As well as the dissemination of still little known songs by the Sao Paulo’s composer Zequinha de Abreu (1880 - 1935).

This project has Caio de Souza 's own compositions and arrangements of Brazilian traditional music for viola caipira and orchestra. Showing a rich amalgamation of sounds and rhythms.
